VELVET TACO – FUNKY & FAST-CASUAL TACO SPOT – OPENS FIRST ADDISON LOCATION ON AUGUST 3

Menu Offers Creative, Globe-Trotting Tacos, Plus Margaritas, Red Velvet Cake Local Craft Beer & More

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE — Velvet Taco, a funky taco spot, opens their first Addison-based restaurant on August 3. Offering creative and playful tacos, the 2,700-square-foot restaurant with a 500-square foot patio makes their menu entirely from scratch using an eclectic array of spices and flavors from across the world. This Velvet Taco is located directly outside of the recently renovated The Commons, owned and managed by Triten Real Estate Partners, on the Northeast corner of the bustling Belt Line and Tollway. The Commons, formerly known as Tollway Place, is a 6-story, 90,000-square foot office building which recently underwent a major transformation and features tech-forward office space, tenant lounges and workspaces providing users with a boutique, professional environment.

“Velvet Taco is a chef elevated, out-of-the-ordinary experience that you can’t find anywhere else,” says Clay Dover, Chief Executive Officer. “We are excited to continue expanding in the Dallas-Fort Worth area and offer another convenient location for our guests. The Addison community can now experience our unique and edgy menu with our safe dine-in, take-out or delivery options.”

“The opening of Velvet Taco will be a fantastic on-site amenity for our office tenants and surrounding community,” says Ty Lee, Principal of Triten’s Dallas office. “Combining on-brand food and beverage experiences with creative office space creates a dynamic environment for all parties and users. We are super excited.”

With a tortilla as their vessel and the guiding motto “set my tacos free,” the sky's the limit on Velvet Taco’s menu. Drawing from globe-trotting flavors and breaking the mold with inventive combinations, the chef-inspired concept offers a broad sampling of over twenty taco varieties on their innovative menu (here), as well as creative sides and red velvet cake. Chefs prepare everything from scratch – from slow-roasted rotisserie chicken to housemade pickles.

Incorporating the freshest and finest quality ingredients that are friendly to the environment, standout tacos include Spicy Tikka Chicken, Fried Paneer, Picnic Chicken, Falafel, Cuban Pig, Fish ‘N Chips, and Grilled Salmon plus brunch versions served all day, every day, like the Chicken & Waffle made with crisp tenders, peppered bacon, peppercorn gravy, green apple slaw, maple syrup, red chile aioli, chives and a waffle tortilla. As for sides and dessert, the Red Curry Coconut Queso, ‘Elote’ Corn and Red Velvet Cake are proven favorites. Each week, guests can sample a new taco as part of the restaurant’s Weekly Taco Feature (#WTF). Plus, Velvet Taco offers pick-up service, including their "secret" Backdoor Chicken – a whole Rotisserie Chicken, two sides of ‘Elote’ Corn, six corn tortillas, roasted corn pico de gallo and heat sauce. Usually $20, “BDC” is sold for $10 on Mondays only.

Addison marks the Dallas-born restaurant’s seventh Dallas-Fort Worth location, joining locations in Austin, Houston, Chicago, Atlanta, and Charlotte.
