Velvet Taco Opens Its Doors In The Heart Of West Midtown At The Interlock

The one-of-a-kind restaurant is set to serve its globally inspired tacos beginning June 14

Velvet Taco, the unparallel taco restaurant, wowing customers with its globetrotting tacos, will begin welcoming customers to its second Atlanta location in The Interlock at 1115 Howell Mill Road on June 14. The original Atlanta restaurant is located in Buckhead at 77 West Paces Ferry Road NW.

Velvet Taco has a passion for seeing food as an art form leading it to craft over twenty diversified taco varieties on its venturesome menu, accompanied by innovative side dishes and a decadent red velvet cake, all using in-house preparation methods. The result is an overload of international creativity obvious in each taco, such as the popular Spicy Tikka Chicken and new menu additions such as the Korean Fried Rice and the Mexi-Cali Shrimp Tacos.
“It is a great honor to have Velvet Taco open doors in The Interlock in West Midtown, where the restaurants are known to heavily exceed the industry standard and guests have high expectations,” said Velvet Taco CEO Clay Dover. “It is our mission to take the humble, well-loved taco and use the tortilla as a blank canvas for any courageous, adventuring foodie’s desires.”

The home of the unconventional taco lineup, Velvet Taco at The Interlock, features bright and rustic furnishings with indoor seating for 75 and a covered patio for 33. The lively, electric space, Velvet Taco’s 25th location in the nation, also showcases their staple Marie Antoinette eating red velvet cake painting and one-of-a-kind, hand-painted murals, including an interactive mural on the patio and a mural paying tribute to the historic Interlock train system designed by Eyeful Art. Guests who visit The Interlock location can take advantage of the walk-up pickup window for orders placed in advance through the Velvet Taco app or website.

The Interlock is situated down the street from a historical marking where four railroad lines interlock, creating the property’s name and a metaphor for the vision of the must-visit complex. The walkable multi-use property offers visitors an unmatched, industrial environment immersed with culture, technology, and commerce. Velvet Taco brings incomparable culinary excellence to The Interlock’s vivacious, invigorating space.

“As someone who lives in the city, I have watched the West Midtown neighborhood grow into a high intensity, exhilarating place full of all types of people looking for a new experience,” said Velvet Taco at The Interlock General Manager Tanesha Blake, an Atlanta resident. “Including Velvet Taco in West Midtown’s notable restaurant lineup is like adding a missing puzzle piece.”
